World's Longest Appendix
World longest appendix measures 23.5 cm or 9.2 in long. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Khokhar removed this Guinness-Records-winning appendix from a then 55-year-old Pakistani man at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan on June 11, 2003.
The appendix was a long, thin, worm-like pouch sticking out of the join between the large and small intestines. Till now, doctors are still not sure of its purpose.
